What types of swimming pool finishes does Florida Stucco offer?

Florida Stucco offers five swimming pool finish collections: Elite, Gem, Reserve, Pearl and Petite. All are mill blended exposed aggregate finishes built on white portland cement with selected aggregates and proprietary additives. Each collection has its own aggregate type, color palette and application specification.

What is the difference between Florida Stucco pool finish collections?

The aggregate defines the collection. Gem Finishes use color quartz and are an etch resistant alternative to marcite. Elite Finishes blend premium white rock with color quartz and are also a marcite alternative. Pearl and Petite use selected river aggregate. Reserve blends iridescent glass beads into selected Pearl and Gem formulas.

What is an exposed aggregate pool finish?

An exposed aggregate pool finish is a cement based plaster containing decorative aggregate that is revealed by washing back the surface cement layer after troweling. Exposure produces a slip resistant, non abrasive surface with more visual dimension and greater resistance to staining and spot etching than traditional smooth pool plaster.

How do I choose a pool finish?

Start with aggregate type, then color, then the surrounding materials. Quartz based Gem Finishes suit owners who want etch resistance and saturated color. River aggregate Pearl and Petite Finishes give a softer natural look. Reserve adds glass bead sparkle. Review material samples alongside your tile, coping and deck selections.

Why can pool water color look different from the sample?

Water changes how a finish reads. Water depth, sunlight, sky conditions, surrounding deck and landscape color, and pool shape all shift the perceived shade. Natural aggregate also varies from deposit to deposit, so color within a product can differ from earlier samples. Always evaluate current samples before selecting.

Gem Finishes

Florida Stucco Gem Finishes, the etch resistant marcite alternative, are a mill prepared marcite alternative blended with the highest quality selected colored quartz aggregates, white portland cement and proprietary additives to enhance strength, density, bonding and curing. A Gem Finish will yield a hard, long lasting surface highly resistant to stains and spot etching prevalent with traditional pool plasters. Exposure of the aggregate produces a safe, slip resistant and non-abrasive surface that attains a compressive strength in excess of 3500 psi in 24 hours and exceeds 7000 psi in 28 days. This pre-blended finish adds the beautiful accent of colored iridescent glass beads to our already appealing selection of aggregate finishes while maintaining the strength and durability that we provide in all our swimming pool finishes.
